APB Music Store

I was looking through my collection of music albums in my cupboard and I thought it would be interesting to share with you about it. Actually, I am pretty particular about music. Many times, its hard to find songs that I like because I am not a very mainstream person, but neither am I a none mainstream person. Weird!

Primary school, I started to listen to English Pop and fall in love with it. I own a couple of Britney Spears, N'Sync, Jennifer Lopez and of course, the must have Westlife. At the end of primary 6, Japanese Pop became a hit and I saw myself a victim of Ayumi Hamasaki and the songs from those Japanese Drama. One of my favourite is "Can You Keep A Secret" from Hero.

And ever since Secondary school, APB's music store is all about Chinese Pop. I love the way they write the lyrics, very meaningful and skillful, and at the same time, I get to learn Chinese in a different way. You know, I have always been learning the songs and understanding the emotions and meaning of the lyrics. Now let me bring you a journey to my Music Store...

陌生人/ 蔡健雅

I believe this album is a turning point for Tanya Chua's music career. Stranger is her first album with Warner Music and is the first album that got her a nomination in Taiwan's Melody Awards. My favourite song in this album includes 陌生人 and 夜盲症. During Secondary 2 when this album was released, I will print the lyrics of the songs in the album and will approach my Mandarin teacher and classmates to help me with the words that I am unfamiliar with.

Someone KILL ME please! I have no idea what this album is doing in my cupboard. I bought it when I was in Secondary 2 (CCK Lot 1's CD Rama) and I thought I was a cool guy then. But it's really quite embarrassing to own such an album. And I tell you, I could just be the youngest person in Singapore (or maybe the world) to own this album. But actually, I did make it a point to learn some of the songs inside- Men's Talk and 大雨的夜里, oh how could I?!

It is important to own some heavenly singers' albums. When people know that you own their albums, they will be impressed and look up to you. Most importantly, they will conclude that you are someone who have a high taste and know how to appreciate music.

有一个地方／Sharon Au

I bought this at AMK Bus Interchange when I was in Primary 6, got it signed by Sharon Au during her birthday party when I was in Secondary 1. I even remembered the hair-stylist for the cover photo is by David Gan and the clothes she was wearing was by Song+Kelly21.
